Darrell was on call yesterday on the emergency photocopying rota, but, when he got to the office Sandra the Resources Lady said that all photocopying would cease and the machines remain silent ……
…… while everyone shared in the smorgasbord of baked dainties that she had brought in to celebrate her birthday.
“It was a glorious array,” Darrell told me “Which ranged from Mr Kipling and McVities to Sainsbury’s own and Weightwatchers, catering for everyones little foodie pekadillo!”
Darrell had a card ready for Sandra in his desk, which he thought he ought to give her first, before going up to select his cake of office birthday choice ….
….. and he thought long and hard about the birthday message he should write …
….. and he made sure it came straight from his heart.
“The Mr Kipling Angel Slices were devilishly tempting” he said …
…. but in the end it was the Sainsbury’s toffee muffin that he took back to his desk. “I cannot lie” he confessed “I choose it, because it was the biggest” …. what is he like?
And, as he sat there, with his muffin, watching everything that was going on around him, he said that he felt blessed to be a part of an office where the eating of cake, on this and many other occasions, was a major priority and nommed happily to himself. Happy Birthday Sandra xxx
