I think you will all have noticed that there is now a distinct autumnal nip in the air …..
…..we certainly have at Chateau Castle Greyskull and to that end we have started the nightly ritual of popping a hot water bottle between our sheets at around eight o’clock at night, so that they are all warm and romantically snuggly when we turn in.
It also gives Nigel and I the opportunity for a little downtime to discuss the salient matters of the day, like the worrying number of broken wooden ice cream spoons that were in the kitchen’s last order from the suppliers …………
…….. and whether Nigel should suggest to Cook that perhaps they should trial the alternative plastic ice cream spatulas for a while……
…… as with all matters of this serious type of import, I tend to advise Nigel to sleep on it, telling him that “big ships at night are small potatoes in the morning”
This usually seems to quell his fears ….. as does making himself the filling in a hot water bottle sandwich when he gets into bed ….. what is he like?

ReplyDeleteIt was below zero here the last two nights. Not than just a nip in the air, more like a huge pinch.
Wouldn't be without my hot water bottle boys - Mr D maybe should have a couple of them about his person considering the temperatures he is enduring, would hate any bits to shrivel up due to the inclement weather. Heaven forbid.

Nigel's size is one big advantage in a hot water bottle snuggle up! Lovely covers on those bottles...warm and cuddly is the best time to discuss important matters...the spoon issue raises questions best pondered during Nigel's quiet time.....Dianne

ReplyDeletenigel is a great thinker i would like to go to bed with ships and wake with potatoes yummy love the hot water bottles rick takes a basset to bed with him it goes up to 3 depending on how cold it is most nights its 3 bassets cold lol it means i have to change his beding every day and wash the dogs twice a week and no human would sleep in his dog basket lol big i got a hot water bottle love marc
