Our Word of the Week this week is “belligerent”, which according to the office dictionary means “inclined to or exhibiting assertiveness, hostility, or combativeness” which isn’t the easiest word for us to include into our normal conversational banter as it is not a mood/emotional we come up against very often.
However …. our Quote/Thought of the Week is robustly pertinent and most apt where Nigel is concerned!Sorry we are going to have to add word verification our comments section as it seems we are again being bombarded with spam!!! So if your comment doesn't come up straight away it means that our lady "that does" is going through them with a fine toothcomb, so that the spammers don't get through .....This is such a robust pain in the bottom and as such we have boycotted all SPAM comestibles in protest ..... sandwiches, fritters, fricasse etc.!!!!!!
I would say Nigel is bellicose rather than belligerent.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my FAV words boys! How did you know?!!! When I was a very little girl I remember reading it in a book when I was on a train journey. When I got home I looked it up the dictionary, that memory and the word has stuck with me to this day. Tho' I do hope my character does not fit the definition! JantheFan x
