Last night was Hugh’s last night with us ….. (heavy sighs!) …..
…… and by the time you read this he will be back in Notting Hill, picking up from where he left off with his life of a very glamorous showbiz type nature ……
….. a world apart from our humble life at Castle Greysquirrel.
But who would have thought that Hugh would have so robustly embraced marigolds and washing up, is no longer being a stranger to Mr Muscle and is still marvelling at the stain removal powers of Vanish as well as wielding a mean bog brush!
So …… last night we held a bijou “Hugh Wrap Party” ……
…… partaking in just a few of the comestibles that Hugh will certainly not be able to indulge in on his return to the West End, The BBC and Hollywood to mention just three, as he was always saying ….. “Mon dieu, zee camera, it puts on zee 10lbs without zee blinking no? It takes no prisoners, especially with mon derriere darlings!”
Let’s just say it was an emotionally charged evening ……
…… we reminisced …..
….. we hugged …..
…… we laughed …….
……. and we cried …..
….. and we hugged some more. Life will never be quite the same again at Castle Greysquirrel. However, Hugh has vowed to come back again soon …. and of course Darrell will be popping down to London with all due frequence, but I think that Nigel will enforce a robust regime of pester power from now on to make sure that he gets invited too! Happy, happy days, all too short, but with memories never, ever to be forgotten.

The Best of Times and happy/sad tears of parting.....it has been unforgettable from beginning to end ..... wishing for many more get- togethers for you dear friends.....it will certainly be a case of out of sight but not out of mind for dear Nigel and his hero Hugh!......Dianne
