As you know Darrell takes an avid interest in all things of an interior design type nature and has Homes Under The Hammer, Grand Designs and anything with Phil and Kirsty on permanent record.
However, there is one current trend that he isn’t all that keen on, to wit the “metro” style tile …………… especially with a black or coloured grout. It’s very much a Darrell thing, but he says they just remind him of public loos! He also says that mark his words, in a couple of years time they will be the decor faux pas that is now the avocado bathroom suite! What is he like?
Darrell knows these things. In fact, I have just changed some brown grout for white in one of our flats.
ReplyDeleteI think Darrell has a legitimate point with the tile..... in the US it is generally referred to as subway tile because it was used in the subway!....it does have a utilitarian/ commercial use look to it for those of us who remember seeing it used that way.....but others love it and see it in a fresh new way!....endless tile choices today.....Love, Dianne
ReplyDeleteI'm with you there Darrell! I've recently refurbished my en-suite and these tiles were on sale everywhere. I went for 2 mosaic walls and two with a 'wave' pattern.
