However, alongside having to decide who we vote for, we also have another very serious quandary to work out, to wit, whether festive garb is respectable enough apparel in which to cast said votes.
A general election can hardly be regarded as a frivolous occasion and our turning up clad in our obligatory December attire could well be frowned upon by the polling station adjudicators and then it would be just too embarrassing for words to be turned away for inappropriate dress.
Last night we have debated long into the night, over a pre-election snowball or two, discussing as to whether we ought to temporarily change into more somber outfits to befit the proceedings and then quickly change back afterwards. It was quite a conundrum to ponder.
....... and inspect each other rigorously for anything of an indelicate yuletide nature that may still be showing.
Then as soon as we have done our duty to God and The Queen and are back outside we can revert to how we are best prefer to present ourselves during the festive season.
Well done Nigel a most excellent strategy ....... now to put it into action ............
Great idea Nigel.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Santa Claus himself would do, if he were British. I suspect he would simply go along and vote in his work clothes. Mrs. Claus and the elves, too.
