Apart from his complete Mills and Boon and Dame Barbara Cartland collections, Hugh also has quite a library of chicken books …….
…… off which Darrell has availed himself of for a light bedtime reading matter, although, it has to be said, that with all the Worcester fresh air he has been enjoying, he doesn’t really need anything to help him drop off.
Who knew there were so many cute varieties of chicken? Seeing them in their proud upright poses Darrell admitted to feeling a little guilty for roasting (wonderfully) quite so many, thinking that perhaps if he was only able to buy them with their feathers on, it might put him off inserting stuffing and the odd onion or lemon so eagerly before wrapping them in foil.
To the best of his knowledge, he’s never actually done it to a Scots Dumpy, his favourite chosen chicken and has promised himself that in future, if possible, he will now be extra mindful that he doesn’t. What is he like?
I am vegan, from Monday to Friday, for health, environmental and animal welfare reasons. Should I wait until Saturday morning, to read it?
