What can I say? Yesterday afternoon we had the unadulterated pleasure of watching our beloved Iris taking part in her Zoom ballet class, let's just say it was emotional, especially as we quickly realised, even though we are not experts, that we had an almost certain future Prima Ballerina Assoluta in our midst!
However, I don't think the same can be said of Nigel, bless him! While Darrell and I preferred to watch the proceedings from the sofa, Nigel quite naturally wanted to join in, in his usual inimitable way, exuding exuberance and gusto by the bucket load, but displaying very little grace and finesse. To be honest he was more Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer I am afraid than Rudolph Nureyev, although we didn't never intimated this as such.
We thought it best to simply encourage from the side lines, politely clapping at what we thought "might be" an Arabesque, Grande Jete or Tour en l'air .......
........ but there were no standing ovations or vigorously flung bouquets I am afraid, bless his little silken ballet slippers!
Well done, young Miss Iris! Nigel certainly was energetic! Both are managing to stay fit and healthy, during the meltdown.
