…… when he stumbled upon something he’d only enjoyed the pleasure of once and that was Hugh’s, his best friend and mentor of all things retro and tres en trend, of a confectionary type nature……..
……. to wit a small but perfectly formed box of Deluxe Violet Creams, the aforementioned Hugh’s No.1, festive, confectionary of choice.
…… and, it gets even better, as they also had pink gin creams too, as well as salted caramel and orange ones.
Needless to say a full set of said chocolates was basketed and a considered purchase duly made by an exceedingly chuffed Darrell. I feel a full and varied Christmas hamper is on the cards this year for old Hugh from his devoted protegee ……. but I hope Darrell doesn’t get too carried away with fancy flavours and things and remembers that Chez Towers a family box (not tube) of Maltesers are always, always, always our celebratory king!
The only violet sweets that I know are Parma Violets. Do they still make them?
