…….. a boot, quite a stout boot, with, he mused, plenty more wear in it, if it was a pair.
It was probably the sort of boot that had toe-tectors (protective toe caps), something he has always dreamed of owning, but worried that they would rub his heels quite severely during the breaking in period ….. so he’d have to have an ample supply of plasters to go with them!

So if your comment doesn't come up straight away it means that our lady "that does" is going through them with a fine toothcomb, so that the spammers don't get through .....This is such a robust pain in the bottom and as such we have boycotted all SPAM comestibles in protest ..... sandwiches, fritters, fricasse etc.!!!!!!
He would need a few pairs of the aforementioned cotton socks to avoid blisters. That boot certainly looks sturdy.
