A Wonderful Trip Down Memory Lane

While we were staying with LuLu over the Christmas holiday, she very kindly invited us on a trip to Bridgnorth, a town that holds many happy memories for us,  and well, it would have been most rude to refuse such a lovely offer.

Let’s just say Bridgnorth did not disappoint, unlike Nigel’s recent trip to Wolverhampton ……..

…. it was every bit as beautiful as we all remembered, if not more so ….

……. with its wonderful views and quaint buildings to embrace and oooooo and ahhhhh at ………

……… and the market was as enticing as ever, I re-discovered several treasures, including The Liquorice Man from whom several 100gms of said confectionary were duly purchased …… sheer bliss!

Nigel had an encounter of a jolly  bearded gentleman in a long red cloak and misty and whimsical window type nature …….

…….. not to mention the making of several last minute gift purchases ……..

…… from the famous Tanners Wines https://www.tanners-wines.co.uk/bridgnorth/ trying his to nod knowledgeably after asking how best to lay his two bottles of Tanners Red Burgundy, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Maison Roche De Bellene 2015!
We had a lovely time and all agreed that if we ever decided to move again (heaven help us), and if it couldn’t be by the sea ……

…….. then a cute pink cottage in Bridgnorth would definitely be our second choice …….

  1. A lovely town. I doubt you had time to go on the wonderful Severn Valley Railway, but did you have time to go on the funicular railway? This certainly puts the fun in railways.

I remember there being a Tanners in Shrewsbury, but not in Bridgnorth.

  2. P.S. That looks like Northgate. I used to live about ten miles from there.

So if your comment doesn't come up straight away it means that our lady "that does" is going through them with a fine toothcomb, so that the spammers don't get through .....This is such a robust pain in the bottom and as such we have boycotted all SPAM comestibles in protest ..... sandwiches, fritters, fricasse etc.!!!!!!
