Living La Vida’lerta– Small And Not So Small Fry.

There’s a small slipway along the scenic route into town, where, if Nigel stands very still and is as quiet a mouse (no mean task for the little fella believe me), he can sometimes catch a glimpse of the small fry basking in the pleasures of the shallows.

…… and yesterday his stillness and quietness were indeed amply rewarded, with hundreds of tiny and not so tiny fish.

……. which in turn made him think of fondly of Andy, who would have been able to tell him exactly what fish they were, but as it was, they will probably have to remain a mystery for a little while longer at least.

No one can do awe and wonder quite like Nigel and he returned to The Towers absolutely full of them ……… of a news type nature, naturally, he obviously didn’t consume any, that would be too awful to contemplate …… although we occasionally see the odd person fishing with that aim in mind, but perhaps for larger quarry, there ain’t much meat on a tiddler.

It would be lovely, Nigel reflected to take Iris and Bertie to see them too ……… but said fish would certainly sense those two coming from a million miles away and would have headed for deeper waters before they even managed to get anywhere near, bless them.
