Caught With a Chick in My Arms!

I find Personal Assistants a bit intimidating!

They seem so efficient and self assured.

I went to the office to ask for a timesheet, forgetting that I was clutching a chocolate chick and I felt so foolish!

I have been buying one chocolate chick a week and putting them away for Easter for all my family and friends, but I didn’t like to go into all the where-with-alls with Tallulah…… perhaps I should get her one too.

Madeline and Molly

This is Molly’s best friend Madeline.  Madeline helps in the Reception Office.

She has to answer the phone a lot which makes her throat quite dry.

She also has to frank all the important letters.

She and Molly thought it would be funny to see how much it would cost to post Molly"!

Not a lot, but Molly couldn’t fit through the franking machine without being squashed as flat as a pancake, so that’s as far as they got!

Tea Boy

This is Archibald, he is the tea boy in one of the offices where mum works.

He makes a  BRILLIANT and most refreshing cup of tea. .

His top tips for a good cup of tea are:- always use a “good” tea, allow five minutes to brew, never use a tea bag twice and a nice mug, with a lovely pussy cat picture can help with the ambience when tea sipping!

It must be lovely to have a job which brings such pleasure to so many parched busy ladies!

My cardigan is from Baby Gap - newborn - it even has MM embroidered on which is BRILLIANT  - but  ..... it was one of Granny G's charity shop finds ...... sorry !

I am not overly keen of Gail Platt/Tilsley/Macintyre, whatever her name is …….. on Coronation Street, her fluttery eyes and the ways she talks in that simpery voice when she is being earnest really gets on my erm….. nerves….. keep her banged up, innocent or not !

My Christmas Tut Tree

Do you remember in December when the ladies in the office made me an Advent Tut Bag and I got a Grow Your Own Christmas Tree Kit …. well, it’s grown!!!!  I didn’t think it would, but when I looked yesterday it had.  How BRILLIANT is that?

I am so excited, and I can see another shoot coming up too, so perhaps I will have two tiny Christmas trees to decorate my festive bedroom for Christmas 2010 – that I can say I had grown all by myself! Wooooo Hoooo.

Tickets Please

The Young Ladies are putting on a show and I am working as “Front of House”.

When everyone is seated I have to dash backstage to work as prompt in case anyone forgets their lines.

It’s BRILLIANT!  When they come off the stage they all give me a little hug – it’s like being in show business but not with famous people!

Poorly Sick Darrell

Darrell wasn’t feeling very well yesterday, he is quite a bit younger than us and so we all look after him …

I made sure he was all tucked up and comfortable.

Then Cyril came to see if he wanted a drink ……

And then Mollie came and hummed to Darrell till he went to sleep. I wish she would hum to me……..

Happy Birthday Auntie Jan

It’s Auntie Jan’s birthday today.  I have made this card for her.  It has 50 bubbles on it – I thought that would be more subtle than 50 candles!

I helped with the laundry today – it’s hard work ….
 
I used Bold with lavender and camomile, it makes everything smell lovely when it come out, even my socks!

Then I had to tumble everything – BUT if I take things out at just the right time I can save on the ironing!

 
I didn’t like sorting out all the socks, what a boring job!
 

Cool, Calm and Collected.

Yesterday Molly went on Mr Collis’s bus with  the young ladies, unfortunately Molly felt a little queasy, but after several weeks with Mr Collis, Mr Collis’s monkey is an expert in such matters and was able to calm Molly down to such an extent that the sick bucket and paper towels were not required.

Shoes For Molly

I have bought Molly some little pink shoes. I hope she doesn’t think I am being presumptuous, I just worry that her feet might be cold. I hope they fit.

ALL the ladies in the Office have a monkey of their own now – I think they saw me and JUST had to have one too! (E-bay has been very very busy!) It’s great to go to the office now – before it was a bit boring on my own ….

Mother’s Day

I gave my mum a special Mother’s Day breakfast this morning.  I made her a nice big cup coffee to get her started, and two slices of marmite on toast.

I also gave her a heart shaped stone I found on a beach and kept for a special occasion. She sniffed a lot when she unwrapped it and said she thought she was getting a cold.
