Pale and Interesting or Just Pasty?
I think I am looking a bit peaky and was wondering if some of that Johnson’s Holiday Skin might give me a bit of a healthy glow.

Eat Your Heart Out Gordon Ramsey, You Ain’t Got A Kitchen Like This!
This was my scheduled post for today, I was so sure Engerland would be playing Argentina next Saturday and its content would still be current, alas, that is not to be ...... I could have not used it, but I thought you'd still like to see how my canteen has been celebrating the World Cup......
with mascots sitting on the hot plate (PLEASE do not try this), Soupe de Jour ……
……. and iced dainties ........
Oh well, with a heavy heart, this is my last World Cup post ....... time to get back to normal.

Another Day …. Another World Cup Match.
It was hard to sleep last night, what with the heat and the worry and excitement of this afternoons England v Germany Match.
Darrell and I started the day trying to decided which sticker to put on our Sunday breakfast boiled egg ………
Aunty Jan found us these stickers, but in the end we decided not to use them because we are a bit superstitious and didn’t think it would be right to see our World Cup heroes with egg on their faces, especially on a day like today.
Everyone is coming round again to watch the match and have hot pork baps for lunch (with stuffing, apple sauce and a drizzle of gravy!). We shall be banging our Peperamis like crazy as we have one each now, Aunty Jan won one too and gave it to us, woooo hoooo! I think they will be almost as irritating as the vuvuzelas!
All that is left to say is “COME ON ENGERLAND”

It's National Insect Week - 21st - 27th June 2010
It’s National Insect Week, which is very exciting and also very fatuitous as when I went over to the paper shop and delved in Ali’s 30p each or 4 for a £1 box …. I found this….. its a magnifying set for looking at insects
In the set there’s a magnifying glass in the guise of a ladybird, a spotty black and red pencil for making observational notes, a large ladybird to examine in detail and some little stickers to study under the glass in case the insects you find won’t stay still enough to look at.
It’s BRILLIANT ……..
….. finding secrets out about the little creatures that inhabit our world.

Our Peperami Fanimal Has Arrived
Ever since we won a Peperami Fanimal a couple of weeks ago Darrell has been waiting expectantly, every morning, for the postman.
And finally his patience has paid off, because this morning the postman delivered a long, slim parcel……..
But Darrell loves him!!!!
And finally his patience has paid off, because this morning the postman delivered a long, slim parcel……..
I’ve never seen Darrell quite so excited, his hands were shaking so much it was hard for him to rip through the plastic wrapper.
We are both thrilled with it, we’ve never won anything together before…… and it’s come just in time for Sundays match!
You have to bang it against something hard and it says lots of funny things like “ Oi Italy, the only balls you are good with are meatballs!”, That made Darrell chuckle and he has been trying to talk like the peperami character.
I have to admit that the feel of the fanimal is rather strange, it’s like a stringy, sticky, floppy rubbery plastic, and personally I think it needs some pants.
But Darrell loves him!!!!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that we also got a 50p off voucher so we are doubly blessed!

My Apologies…..
I loved my new blog design but it turned out to be a nightmare, I lost all my links and gadgets that made my old blog fun and after two days of fiddling about I have had to admit defeat – and have returned to a plainer and simpler format but I have learned how to “do” pages….. so not all is lost!
A Midsummer’s Rose and Fairy Lanterns.
Yesterday was Midsummer’s Day and legend has it that any rose picked on that day will keep fresh till Christmas …… I will keep you informed as to how long mine lasts……
I also filled the trees with lanterns so that the fairies had a flickering light to dance in as Midnight approached.
Most of them are small, but I added the last big one just in case there were a few fuller figured fairies planning on dancing around our hollyhocks.

Peperami Update
Darrell and I are still excitedly waiting for our Peperami Fanimal to arrive, but imagine my surprise when I received a letter yesterday from the Peperami people ……
I’d e-mailed them telling them how excited we were to win a fanimal, but I never dreamed they would write back to me.
They even sent me a voucher to buy something lovely …. I am now wondering whether to try a Pot Noodle with Darrell as we have never had one before or get some Elmlea to pour on our strawberries.
Once again I feel very blessed in a Hello magazine type way, there are so many very kind people in the world.

My Race For Life Goodie Bag and Another Surprise …..
I can’t believe that I got a lovely pink goodie bag, as well as a medal at the end of the race …. it was like my birthday, the medal was more than enough, but this was all too wonderful ….
I had some beauty products that I am going to give to Lucy to put in her wash bag for her holidays. There was some special stuff to make ladies skin recover after shaving, which is all a big mystery to me but I think she will be delighted with it, but there again, I hope she doesn’t think, I think, she has hairy legs that need shaving ……
I also had a cereal bar …… very yummy ….. but best of all, one of the Office Ladies made all the Monkeys who ran a certificate to go with their medals
BRILLIANT!
