A few people have been asking about Christopher, our first overseas adoption to the United States (we don’t do things by halves) …..
….. well, after being mysteriously detained in customs at Heathrow Airport for a week, where he assures us he was well looked after and entertained, he finally arrived in Florida about a week ago.
His new family Dianne and Douglas are WONDERFUL and Florida is all he hoped for and more. He says he is embracing each and every new experience for us as he knows how much we dream of visiting America one day. He tells us that he has real freshly squeezed orange juice on tap, none of this concentrate stuff and is already addicted to Tootsie Rolls and all varieties of Hershey Bars!
….. and added that Dianne and Douglas were thrilled with our gift of foam bananas as they are something of a rare delicacy in The States!
He says the weather is fantastic, the food portions mahoooooosive, Key Lime Pie being especially nom, nom, nom and the people just can’t get enough of his cute English accent. He can’t wait until Douglas takes him fishing along the Florida Keys as that has always been one of his long felt wants since watching Tight Lines and Gone Fishing!
We are soooooooo happy for Christopher and a little excited too as he says that in the short time he has been Florida he has been able to partake a little retail activity and has sent us a little something of an American type nature!

International adoptions and jet setting. Impressive. I'm sure you will be very well looked after by Dianne.
Is there a correlation between the number of o's in mahoosive and the strength of the word?
i am sure he will live happily ever after as long as he stays away from crocodiles snakes snapping turtles and other scary things that lurk in the everglades but if he stays in key west or goes to Disney world to see my old pal Micky he will be fine and happy big showbiz wave and live the dream Hugh Mr D i love that word correlation its so impressive i shell be chucking it in my conversations today to impress peps like is there a correlation between how much orange juice and champaign one has to have to get the prefect bucks fizz they will be well impressed big intelligent wave Hugh
What an honour to see our dearest Christopher featured today! We admit to some roller coaster anxiety waiting for his arrival. There is a little mystery about his time in customs. When he reached British customs, he politely answered their questions and had a friendly converstion with folks there. He was shown to a waiting room and tried to make himself useful to help hurry things along. When night came, he snuggled down on a settee and pretended he was camping out. Thank goodness there were people about, so he wasn't afraid. WE THINK they liked his company and helpfulness so much they put his "case" (i.e.paperwork and routine questions) on the very bottom of their "to do" list. Finally they had to send him on his way across the Atlantic! Large well of gratitude here for Monkey, Darrell, Nigel and Mum for making this remarkable adoption come true. They are simply the very best in every way! We respect his British heritage and will encourage him to retain his British accent; it suits him perfectly and is exactly as it should be. He is completely adored and we can't imagine him not being a member of the family! Doing our own version of "Walking in the Air" here. Not to worry Marc and Hugh, we will make certain he is safe! Whether in snow, rain, or sun, we hope this is an especially good day for the devoted fans, friends, and adoptees of Mum's Monkey......Dianne and Christopher
Hugh - I'm pleased I can help with your vocabulary. Are you old enough to have conversations about Bucks Fizz let alone drink it?
This drink brought back memories of the band and their song "Making your mind up!"
Dianne, that must be the record for the biggest comment length ever. Does Christopher speak the Queen's English or some West Midlands/Black Country/Yam Yam accent? I hope this doesn't annoy anyone like Mrs. G.
P.S. I don't have an accent myself!
Hi there, Mr. D, Only have heard Her Majesty's voice on TV, but have heard a whole variety of English accents on BBCA, PBS, and movies, I would say he seems to have developed his own distinct version. Perhaps a combo of Rex Harrison, Alec Guinness, and assorted TV stars; sort of like Cary Grant developed his own ....but it is lovely......Dianne
Dianne - thanks for this. I must sound so refined. Perhaps he could get a job as a voiceover person or something.
Mr. D. I am surprised that volume of comment went through, but then it was covering a Mahooosive event....Dianne
