Keeping Darrell's Mind Occupied With The Most Wonderful Consequences!!

With Darrell’s mind still much too occupied by his “Chicken Gate” experience yesterday, I suggested that, after the inevitable bump back down to earth following the Christmas and New Year celebrations, perhaps he could buoy his spirits somewhat by turning his attentions to our next most favourite time of the year, by thinking about our next summer holiday!
Well, he took the bait instantly and quickly disappeared upstairs to do, what he called “some intensive research”, suggesting, that as we LOVE Greece so much, and there are still so many islands left for us to explore, it would be rude not to use it as a starting point!!
We didn’t see hide nor hair of Darrell for the best part of three hours, until he returned with what he called his short list ……… which didn’t seem that short!
He then gathered us excitedly round his tablet so that we could see the resorts and hotels that he had found and discuss their various merits. That took us well into the evening, so we had a sandwich tea. There was much lively debate, but none, I am glad to say, heated, until only one contender remained, it indeed ticked all our boxes   ….. and then Darrell disappeared again ……..
…… only to return, some half an hour later, brandishing a piece of paper, I hadn’t expected to actually book anything, but Darrell had decided to take the bull by its horns. Our holiday was assured and so in 2016 we are off to explore the pleasures of Alykes, which none of us can pronounce without sounding like we are clearing out throats, on the romantic island of Zante.  And, as a by product, all thoughts of pilfered chicken fillets have long since disappeared from Darrell’s mind!!! Happy Days!

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Because it was in the thief's bag.
