…….. a boot, quite a stout boot, with, he mused, plenty more wear in it, if it was a pair.
It was probably the sort of boot that had toe-tectors (protective toe caps), something he has always dreamed of owning, but worried that they would rub his heels quite severely during the breaking in period ….. so he’d have to have an ample supply of plasters to go with them!
Nigel does muse a lot …….. bless his little cotton socks!

He would need a few pairs of the aforementioned cotton socks to avoid blisters. That boot certainly looks sturdy.
I can just imagine Nigel looking at everyone's feet as you walk past them, just in case he finds the "matching boot"!!
