There’s a tree on our way up to Tom and The Lovely Laura’s that is puzzling Nigel greatly. It was the conker tree on a corner patch on the main road that first drew Nigel’s attention to the area, as it is absolutely laden with massive aforementioned conkers which he is determined to be the first under when they start dropping ….. especially now re: yesterday’s post, we have so many spiders lodging with us, because according to ancient legend and folklore conkers are supposed to repel said insects.

Well I don't really know - as Mavis used to say from Corrie - I would have said Rosehip berries but the leaves don't look like rosehip leaves - so not sure what they are! JantheFan x
Them there fruits look awfully like rosehips to us. Apparently, kids in the North East of England used to go gathering them for Delrosa to use for their rosehip syrup. They were paid per pound in weight and it was a great way to supplement their pocket money at this time of year. Hey up Nigel, a little earner for you perhaps? You can always stand on Monkey and Darrell's shoulders like a circus act to reach the upper branches! Snort.

More information and a recipe for Nigel!

Is it a type of crab apple?
If so, best explain to Nigel that they don't turn into crabs a la transformers.
Lovely color and while they do look familiar, just can't come up with a name! ...another of nature's beauties .....Love, Dianne
These look good enough to eat but might give you a tummy ache though do best just to admire from afar.
