Darrell Causes A Bit Of Fuss

Yesterday while Darrell was out taking his après lunch constitutional along the river he gave himself a bit of a fright ….. to be honest, I blame the extra mature cheese and three large pickled onions he had with his ploughman’s!

We have generally found that after a bout of inclement weather, such as we have had, debris is often washed down the river and yesterday was no exception ……

…… however on this occasion Darrell’s  over active imagination went into overdrive when he thought he had spotted a crocodile nonchalantly swimming passed him ……I ask you?

I suppose through an excitable, squinted eye in the low autumnal sun, what was actually a mediumish size log, could have possibly passed for said crocodile ……….

……. but in no way did it warrant all the hysterics that ensued.  I now need to apologise to the marina and all the barge people who hung out of their portholes to see what was occurring  What on earth is he like?

A crocodile that took a wrong turn? Or one escaped from a local zoo? Darrell and his imagination go wild, but not the crocodile.

I'm team Darrell - I've seen a lot of Crocs like that disguising themselves as logs in rivers near us. You continue to be hysterical Darrell - they won't be laughing when one leaps out and bites them on the unmentionables! JantheFan x

One never knows what might be lurking underneath said innocent looking logs!
