Embracing Local Hospitality.

It goes without saying that we are embracing the local cuisine with gusto of an evening …….

…… however, we may have rein Nigel in a little as far as the customary free mini carafe of local raki at the end of each meal is concerned.

Yes, it might look very rude not to accept such a kind gesture …….

…… especially when a new and unusual flavour combo is proffered for your delectation ……

…… but there are those among us who don’t seem to have the stamina  to quite keep up with the little fella ………..

……. and his, it has to be said,  most excellent manners and appreciation for local traditions ………

Oops. It would be rude to refuse it, however.

Maybe his state, the morning after the night before, will discourage him from over imbibing.

Or maybe not.

When my older brother lived in Paris, before every evening meal, we would have a Ricard, then wine with the meal, followed by some beer. I was drunk every night.

What are holidays for - but to enjoy - whether in Crete or as Mr D's story tells us in Paris! JantheFan x
