It’s the 1st of December, our most favourite month of the year and it’s chocolate Advent Calendar akimbo, this year in the guise of a slightly more upmarket (for us) M & S Santa one, with Nigel, as the youngest, taking the honours in opening the very first door of December 2022 to a bell shaped chocolate.
Our lovely postman Rob also bought us a very mysterious and unexpected envelope from our beloved No. 1 Fan, Jan the Fan (we know because we recognised her handwriting) …….
……. which had instructions on the front to open December 1st which was most fortuitous since that was the actual date!
Inside was a festive Advent scratch card ………..
…… with the very unlikely, yet incredibly tantalising chance to perhaps win up to 24 times!
Our first scratch only revealed an igloo and an earmuf ……. so no win there, but there are still another 23 squares to go, one or more of which could potentially change our future forever. I mean, whose lives wouldn’t be changed by £100,000 a month for a whole year? First stop the Greek Islands, taking Jan the Fan and Mr Jan along with us, me thinks!
There was also our very first Christmas card of 2022 enclosed, now resplendent upon our Yuletide shelves ……..
It was, how shall I say ……….. an emotional start to the festive season. What are we like …….. if not potential millionaires!???

Well done JtF! A tantalising present, and one that keeps on giving - right up until Christmas. Nigel will be musing and pondering about winning a prize, for weeks.
Plus their first Christmas card, too. They have one more card than we will get. They don't do Christmas cards in Mexico.
I'm looking forward to my trip to the Greek Isles boyz. Fingers crossed and any other body parts I can cross - which aren't many these days. JantheFan x
