Partaking in a pre and apres dinner cocktail has always been very much part of our holidays of a foreign type nature ……. and we’ve already partaken in one or two or three …….
……. but, it has to be said that we have all noticed that prices appear to have gone up considerably since our Corfu adventure last year and sadly, as ever the bargain hunters, we’ve also found that Happy Hours in Elounda are very sadly few and far between and then start before we’ve even come off the beach (about seven to seven thirtyish) and are then finished as we are ready to hit the town.
So after the first flurry of holiday excitement we have all agreed that perhaps this year (at least) any liquid refreshment that comes with a sparkler, umbrella, mermaid stirrer or masochistic cherry should be very much considered ………
…….. and as such, surprisingly, we’ve found that a simple Bacardi and coke or a half carafe of the local rose wine (at just 2.5 euros for said carafe) makes for just an equally romantic night ………
……especially when serenaded by the evocative lilt of a real life bazooka …..
……. we are sooooooooooooooooooo blessed!
