An Gift Of An Educational Type Nature

We think we’ve giving home school home a really good go, but every now and again one or other of us have found that we have to tackle something we quite frankly struggle with ……

…….. and Nigel’s arch maths nemesis last week were solid shapes with all their flat surfaces, vertexes, sides and edges, to quote the little fella, they were seriously beginning to do his head in plus the teacher was going too quick for him ……….. and what if they started doing capacity and he was found wanting? How could he ever show his face in educational circles again?  Trust me, he was getting in a right state about it.

In the end Darrell and I decided to “treat” the little fella to a box of educational shapes to help him along, and it’s working ………

…… with Nigel now reliably informing Iris and Bertie that the shape formerly know as a Toblerone-iod was now to be called, for educational purposes, a triangular prism and that a tetrahedron was categorically not a ferocious flying dinosaur from the Cretaceous Period, but actually quite simply a triangular pyramid ……. however just for now we are all steering well clear of any icosahedrons because even my head can’t get around one of those!

An excellent gift, for children of all ages. You have made the issue concrete, in education parlance.
