The First Casualty Of The Festive Season

Poor Nigel came home from town this morning in a slightly traumatised type nature ……..

……. he’d spotted a helium Santa balloon that had got stuck in the top of one of the trees along his route …….

………  and it was the fact that he could also see that there was a letter attached to said Santa balloon that upset Nigel so much.

It had obviously been sent by a small, wide eyed child, certain that it would be afforded safe passage to “the Real Santa” at the North Pole ……. never expecting that it would instead met a sad and early demise in a tree in Evesham.

It was up far too high and tangled for Nigel to ever dream of rescuing it. He was heart broken ……… I have told the little fella not to worry, it can’t be the first time such a thing has happened and I am sure Santa has a crack team of helpers who are sent out to collect or at least read and make notes of the contents of such erstwhile, festive mishaps and no, I didn’t think it would wise to call out the fire brigade to rescue it, no matter how good his intentions.

Nigel says he really can’t bear to see it, thinking of all the lost hopes and dreams it may contain, despite all my assurances  and as such will be taking a new route into town and back for the next little while. What am I going to do with him?

Oh dear, never mind, Nigel. Santa has a magic key, so, I'm sure that he has other magic ways to read undelivered letters. Nothing to worry about, in this case, Nigel.
