A New Blue Plaque In Town

Well, as Darrell has discovered, it seems we’ve got another “Blue Plaque” in Evesham, however this one not quite as auspicious as the one in the Market Square that commemorates the towns links with Jim Capaldi

No, this one was installed, we think, by Extinction Rebellion in protest “ against MPs who voted against proposed amendments to the Environment Bill in 2021 that would have tightened regulations on water companies contributing to pollution in waterways”

Not good …….. not good at all.

We love our river, it’s the main reason we chose to settle at the The Towers, across the way from the marina, with our wonderful railway bridge to the side bridge spanning magnificently across it.

Seeing the barges on their romantic travels steam by, the fisherman at the bottom of our bank, waving to Iris and her classmates as they come bell boating, passing under said bridge in the summer, not to mention the occasional band of swimmers as the weather/water warms up ……… and Nigel’s beloved swans, all bring us so much pleasure ……..

……. so we really don’t want goodness only knows what else floating by  too ………. so perhaps the plaques should be made even bigger!

Let's hope that the River Avon becomes cleaner, not filthier, so you can safely mess about on the river.

It's dreadful - can't believe this is being allowed to happen. What is happening to our beautiful world, it's literally dying, it's extremely sad. JantheFan x
