A Most Wonderful December Surprise

I have say that I have a feeling in my water that it’s going to be a wonderful Christmas. Yesterday was the most perfect start with the postman delivering a brown paper package of an much anticipated type nature.

Anticipated because our beloved Jan the Fan had warned us of its imminent arrival, so I think you can imagine the tangible and palpable excitement that was running rife at The Towers awaiting a knock from our said very lovely postman.

Nigel was waiting behind the door as the postman knocked and after a very quick exchange of pleasantries rushed into the lounge, carrying it very, very carefully to the table, presenting it to me to do the honours of opening it.  Oh my …… beneath the tantalising brown paper was a beautifully wrapped box and a lovely, lovely message from Jan The Fan, that brought not very well disguised sniffs and throat clearing from the three of us.IMG_5796
And inside ……..

…… a pair of handcrafted and individual festive hUGG boots for each of us …….

Let’s just say, it was an emotional unwrapping and a hushed silence descended upon The Towers as we all just gazed at our gifts and then made efforts to compose ourselves yet again.

Each pair of boots was exquisite with our own personal initial on ……..

What can we say? Emotional just doesn’t come close!

I am even filling up again as I try to write this, what am I like?

In the end it was Nigel who finally took the initiative to lighten  the mood, by actually trying his boots on and then modelling them for us like a true runway pro ……….

Oh my goodness, they fitted him like a glove and the jingly little bells on them will ensure we will always know exactly where he is.
Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much Jan The Fan ……. to quote the song, it REALLY is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift from JtF!

Fit like a glove? Better if they fit like a shoe.

Well done to JtF for making these! Best to include a few paper hankies in with the present.

Pleased they arrived safely, and you like them! I can't take credit for making the boots, (apart from adding the bells) so a BIG s/o to a dear friend Cynthia who created them so beautifully. She does occasionally peruse this blog so hopefully she will see this post. Enjoy all the rest of the festivities. JantheFan x
