Taking Full Of Advantage Of The Pleasures of Dawlish Beach

Yes, during times of inclement weather Darrell, Nigel, Iris and Bertie have sought shelter ……..

…… and solace on the arcade machines …….

……. it’s very much a family  seaside tradition to squander the odd pound or two, but fortunately within the squanderment of said pound or two the sun has come out and cups (empty of course) hastily abandoned for more sandy pleasures.

According to Darrell it seems that Young Master Bertie has quite exacting and high standards and expectations when it comes to  sandcastle  construction ………..

……. preferring to supervise and issue instructions ………

…….leaving the “minions”, to wit Darrell, Lulu and Iris to fulfil those said heady dreams and aspirations.

Darrell says at times it’s been back backing stuff, not helped by Nigel’s self appointed position as Bertie’s right hand man …….

…….. cracking the whip with a little too much enthusiasm for Darrell’s mind.

Darrell informs me that his first port of call upon his return to The Towers is to commandeer the bathroom for a full and robust bath brimming with Radox and Badedas,  for and I quote, “……. as long as it takes to feel normal again!”

What’s he like?  Happy, happy days and memories made!

Is Young Master Bertie going to be a civil engineer? Or a chief architect?

Or a bossy boots?

P.S. Bertie's design reminded me of the Amazing Ankgor Wat, in Cambodia, where I visited about twenty years ago.
