A Long, Last, Lingering, Embrace Of The Sea

Before Nigel and Lu headed for home they took themselves down to Hengistbury Beach ……..

…… to embrace and bid a fond farewell to the sea and all it’s pleasures for, more than likely, the last time this year.

It was emotional as this was a beach with many memories of when Andy was with us.

It was a time to reflect on the ebbing of the another strange year, but also look forward to the coming of December, now just only under three weeks away, our most favourite month of the year with all it’s planning, excitement, anticipation and cosy familyness…….

……. and Nigel, upon his return, had much to do …….

……. but not before the obligatory search for a magical holey stone for Darrell, of which several were found ………

……. and the promise that, as sure as eggs is eggs, he’d/we’d be back at least once in the new year …….

Wonderful to think of Andy, at such a special place.

I knew Nigel would find a holey stone, too.

Oh goodness - the sweet memories, always there, just lingering, a small flame waiting to burn brightly again. A place that holds so much emotion. Oh dear I'm all teary eyed now. Then the holey stone - how wonderful. JantheFan x
