Yesterday Nigel returned from the school run absolutely full of it ……..
……. pleading with Darrell to “Please, please please” swop our boring, old, cardboard milk boxes for “ ……some of those big, plastic ones!”.
It seems he’d spotted an artistic insulation insinuation installation outside the Methodist church and was desperate to have a go himself.
The After School Club, he thinks, had made a flock of doves (?) seagulls (?), well, some sort of white bird anyway, out of old, plastic milk containers with, he enthused, just a few masterful strokes of a well honed craft knife ……..
…….. of which Nigel was very mightily impressed ……
……. wanting to make a few of his own to hang in the trees on the bank at the back of The Towers.
Now, I don’t ever like to put a dampener on the little fella’s indomitable spirt, but my mind, as did Darrell’s, went straight to the thought of Nigel brandishing said craft knife if we did decide to avail ourselves of the odd milk container or two, lovely though our bank might look.
So for the moment we are trying as many delay tactics as we can. Fortunately, due to Darrell’s prudent housekeeping regime we already have quite a large stock of long life milk in the cupboard, so buying even more might look a little stockpiley and as for the craft knife …….. ooooops, we haven’t seen that for ages now!
We feel sooooooooo mean …… perhaps just one small cartoon wouldn’t hurt and then we could hang it somewhere special on the bank but not where certain people upstairs can see it and complain about? We will keep you informed ……..
