OMG, Breakfast Is Served …….

My apologies, but you may be hearing quite a lot about our breakfasts over the next week or so ……….

IMG_2529

…… because we just can’t believe the wonderfulness of “what we are about to receive” each morning!

IMG_2629IMG_2630

Now, we’ve had many a Greek breakfast before, but never, ever, ever, ever, on this magnitude of choice …….

IMG_2613IMG_2616

…… in fact, I am loathe to say it, but on this occassion, you can almost have too much said choice!

IMG_2617

Even the very first station has caused us great soul searching, with it’s ample fruit salad, jelly squares, Greek rice pudding and banana Angel Delight (we think) …… well, it would be rude not to have a little of each, as an appetiser……..

IMG_2619IMG_2618

…… but then there’s the two hot plates, one with Greek delicacies such as spinach pie, cheese pie and cream pie and the other with two varieties of scrambled egg (Greek and traditional), omelettes, fried egg, spicy and boiled sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes to name just a few …

IMG_2634IMG_2635

Then there’s the solid Greek yogurts  ………..

IMG_2532IMG_2533

…….. the cheese and cold meats …….

IMG_2621

……. the rustic bread and cakes ………

IMG_2622

The cereal and the traditional Greek crusty, hard baked goods……..

IMG_2625IMG_2624

Poor Darrell has already given up the ghost and says he’s going to buy a pair of baggie swim shorts of voluminous and expanding proportions …..

IMG_2627IMG_2628

……. because life is just too short to abstain and risk a little muffin top,  just to fit into a pair of unfeasibly tight, bright yellow, budgie smugglers …….

IMG_2547IMG_2633

…… and I have to agree, well, it would be just plain disrespectful to our lovely Greek hosts not to, wouldn’t it?

As they say in Greek words:- καλή όρεξη or kalí órexi

Wow! Once again, you have got my mouth watering.

I would certainly over-indulge, but I'd try to fill up on the fruit and veg. before trying lots of the other items - bacon, and cheese sandwiches, made with rustic bread sound very tempting, too.

That full Greek breakfast will certainly make you full.

καλή όρεξη in Spanish is ¡provecho!

All together now. "I want a full Greek breakfast and I want it NOW!"

Wow-waft an amazing choice. Don’t think you’ll need much for your lunch each day.

Oh my oh my, what a selection - don't worry about a muffin top, you have a whole year ahead to get it off! JantheFan x
