We thought we’d treat ourselves to another night out, curtesy of a local taxi, to Pefkohori, just 15 –12 minutes down the road from our Hanioti base.
Again, our travails did not disappoint, as Nigel couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw they had a mini fairground, including a Greek “Hook a Duck” (well, to be honest, it was more like hook a swan, but that’s semantics) …… a long felt, but as yet unknown, want for the little fella!
Unfortunately, things weren’t quite ready to open, but it was still a very new experience for us. We think, this year, we’ve chosen a holiday destination actual used by real life Greeks, a bit like us (Brits) going to Dawlish or Newquay, but hotter.
It was all too romantic for words …….
……… to be in foreign climes, in a “proper” seaside type way but without the lettered rock and chip thieving seagulls ……..
…… with our beloved blue and white tables, chairs, shades and cloths, colours Darrell has used in our bedrooms in way of homage to our beloved Grecian isles, what is he like?
And, the icing on the cake? We found an establishment that served the most wonderful Loukoumades of our holiday so far, these, were undoubtedly diabetes in a dish, especially when served, at our behest, with a huge dollop of pistachio ice-cream …… but it would have looked rude not too, wouldn’t it?
We’ll worry about the toll our holiday indulgences have taken upon our usually pristine bodies ……… when we get back home, it’s only once a year!

Another delightful day in paradise.
I just realised, that I have never had pistachio ice cream. I really don't know what I am missing.
I do like pistachio nuts, however.
