As you know we absolutely LOVE a Greek church or shrine ……
……. so when we happen across one, we always like to take a peek, have a moment of quiet reflection and light a candle or two, if we can.
Now, this wonderous one, can you believe, was at the entrance to one of the hotels on our way in and out of town and it was open, we could so easily have missed it, but Nigel caught the barest glimpse of stained glass one night as we walked “home” and we just had to explore!
It was so small, yet truly stunning, in an awe and wonder type way.
It took our breath away with all it’s icons and religious artefacts.
We have quite a collection ourselves back at The Towers, thanks to Darrell, but what we saw and envied was certainly not the stuff of a souvenir shop, these were serious artefacts, so goodness only knows where we’d ever find anything like these stuff of dreams as mere holidaymakers.
It was a humbling experience full of memories of loved ones, but, the step outside made us chuckle ………. waste not want not!

Wonderful - the word "numinous" came to mind. Unfortunately, looking at the etymology, it is from Latin, not Greek.
The step is amusing. Maybe they thought Sample was the name of the company.
My comment hasn't appeared. What's going on? I'll give it a day or two, to be found in the aether.
Oh how beautiful is that little place. JantheFan x
