A Quick Trip Burnham On Sea (Without The Sea)!

On his way back from Bude, what better stop off point to stretch his legs and grab a cup of tea ……..

….. but Burnham on Sea, well, it would be rude not to ……..

IMG_3482

……with its plentiful supply of new, fresh charity shops to satisfy even the most ardent of moochers…….

IMG_3475IMG_3474

…… plus being the home of Winnies, the most wonderfulest bakers shop in the world, with its marmite loaves ………

IMG_3476IMG_3478

……. among many other fine and unusual savoury tear and shares, cakes, pies and pasties……..

IMG_3479

…… making any sort of single comestible choice a near on impossibility.

Then there’s Larkins Discount Store for the odd, considered seaside souvenir ……

IMG_3485

…… not to mention the up and coming “art scene”………

The only thing that we all have yet to see, despite our many visits ………

IMG_3488IMG_3490

…… is the sea ……..

IMG_3489IMG_3491

…….. not even the slightest of glimmers!

Nigel says he’s going to put it on his bucket list of “world wonders” he wants to see before he’s forty and he’ll keep on visiting until he does.  Perhaps, before another visit, he should avail himself of a copy of the local tide table, which could possibly help with his timing.

What an inspired place to stop off on the way home. What's not to like? Charity shops, plus Winnies. The "Muriel" is superb, too.
