After Darrell’s disappointing chai latte experience of last week, undeterred he decided to give Coffee #1’s spiced chai a whirl as they also made one of our chai’s of choice, pre meltdown, depending on where we were at the time.
He ordered a “large” and received a very generous “large”, not in a small saucered glass, as had not gone down too well as per last week, but in a large, lidded, disposable container. He also enjoyed a very pleasant conversation with the young lady at the counter as, he said, he felt the anticipation rising.
He was NOT disappointed! It was just as he wonderful and comforting as he remembered and in the lovely surroundings of the town square he says his heart soared, it felt soooooo good to be “almost normal” again.
As you might gather, he was in one of his funny “feeling” sort of moods that day.
So from now one Coffee #1 is our #1 choice for a cheeky chai when we are out and about in Evesham, with Darrell musing, when he got back to The Towers, perhaps next time he might finally try their beetroot latte, one of his long felt wants but had always been a tad frightened to try, just in case he didn’t like it, so a case, I feel, of watch this space!

That looks like one delicious drink. Well done, Coffee #1!
Mind you, for me chai is tea, not coffee.
I used to drink chai from the vendors on the trains, when I backpacked round India. They were sold in unglazed clay cups, which everyone through out of the window, after use. Supposedly, they are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The Guardian says so, so it must be true.
