A Commissioned Delight

To herald our joyous reunion Hugh had got his “man what does” to make a very special cake ……….

…….a little meringue type confection that he hoped would “say it all” …….

…… in the guise of thick piles of cream and chopped strawberries betwixt layers of wondrous discs of chewy in the centre meringue, topped with a single, magnificent, glistening English strawberry, standing triumphant and proud at its pinnacle.

And the piece de resistance?

………. it was all standing aloft a dizzying glass tower of Maltesers, oh my giddy aunt!

Let’s just say its unveiling was a unique and very emotional event, as was its eating almost toooooooooo delicious for words. What can I say, except that Hugh, as always, is a truly consummate and extraordinary host!
