Talking of shines, our hotel does have one too, but to be honest, not on the scale of magnificence of the hotel up the road, but it’s “ours shrine”!
As we came from the airport in our taxi, we drove past a huge “shrine merchants”, that had us all craning our necks to see all the wonders they had ……. from small roadside ones to huge ones you could get a couple of people in.
It has to be said that we have and always have had, a mahooooosive shrine envy …….
….. should we ever win the lottery and swap our bijoux flat for a house (but not too big a one), the first thing we’d have outside in the front garden would be a small, unobtrusive shrine with night light and at the back because we could afford to have one shipped over, we’d have the biggest shrine we could find to use as a summer house, if it isn’t a mortal sin or blasphemy and we wouldn’t have it blessed or anything like that, just in case. It would be so lovely, a little bit of our beloved Greece in our back garden, what are we like?

A shrine front and back would be great. Can Darrell find anything Greek that you can put on your wall? Something with religious significance, but wouldn't take up too much room? A diptych, triptych, tetraptych or a polyptych, perhaps?
What a lovely idea - and these are the dreams which keep us warm on the winter nights. JantheFan x
