We Try Cadbury Mystery Bar 01

It has to be said that Kata, our lovely opposite neighbour, has noticed from day one that though virulent and therefore incarcerated, nothing had appeared to diminish our appetites (or sense of taste or smell for that matter),  judging from all our returned, licked clean plates and dishes from the “meals across the hallway” deliveries she’s been leaving us!  What are we like?

So, she decided that we really should put such a positive to good use and popped a Cadbury Mystery Bar 01 in our delivery box,  saying via text, “Nézze meg, mit gondol ebből, akkor fiú” or “See what you make of this Boyz”!

Well, it would have been rude not to, wouldn’t it?  or Nos, nem túl durva lett volna, nem?

There was nothing in the colour or texture of the filling …….

Smelling Cadbury Dairy Milk

…….. or the smell that gave us any clues, it all boiled down purely to taste.

We were pretty certain that there was something of “the berry” lurking, but it wasn’t strawberry.

It seemed soooooooo familiar, evoking memories of the Christmases past  of my childhood, when there were always new things to try and then, it came to me, Raspberry Ruffle!  It tasted like raspberries (but without the coconut) …….. or, just, just, just perhaps, it was gooseberry, as in Gooseberry Cream of olden days Quality Street ????

In the end, after much debate, none heated, we finally opted for raspberry, with Darrell entering our answer in the competition online ……..

Unfortunately, there was no option to hedge our bets and have another cheeky go with gooseberry, so if anyone wants to chance their own bets on our said second answer, we’re more than happy to split the prize???  Anyway, it was a most pleasurable way to fill a penned up covid afternoon, so thank you Kata, you’re our hero!

Kata is a superstar!

What an intriguing bar from Mr.Cadury, in Bournville.

George Cadbury was shocked at the living conditions of the poor and wanted to provide decent housing for his workers. He planned a village of well-built cottages with big gardens. The village would also have large spaces for recreation and leisure.

He built it near the River Bourn and named it Bournville, because it sounded French, who had a good reputation for food.

All together now: Here endeth today's lesson.

......interesting Mr D.

How very kind is Kata - thoughtful neighbour - I've never seen those bars of chocolate. I'll watch out for a box or three. JantheFan x
