A Most Wonderous Pick Us Up

We’re still very much positive!

Many thanks for all your very kind thoughts and good wishes during our time of infection and confinement, each and every message has meant soooooooo much and read and absorbed many times over.

It goes without saying that it’s all been very emotional, we are now out of our pyjamas for most of the day and we seem to be “getting there”.  What are we like?

Our recovery was much hastened when we found a surprise package in our mailbox from our rellies back in the homeland …….

We could tell it was a very posh gift of distinction and a certain refinement just by looking at the box, the waxed pink paper wrappings and honeycombed protective layers ……

……. to reveal the most perfect bouquet carrying gingerbread man biscuit from Biscuiteers we have ever seen.  Needless to say there were tears!

We were truly overwhelmed ……. but then came the pithy question, do just stare at it in awe and wonder or do we …….. eat it?

IMG_0226IMG_0228IMG_0227

It was indeed a thing of great beauty, but it was meant to be eaten …..

……. and would look sooooo rude if we let to go stale through sentimentality …..

…… so Nigel did us the honour of going first, not even waiting for a plate, starting at the bottom (feet and legs, not the literal bottom bits), with Darrell and I following suit with equal gusto, the bouquet shared equally between the three of us.  Let’s just say it did not disappoint, it was gingerbread perfection and not a single crumb left.  What a lovely, thoughtful gift, perfect for those of a covidly restricted type nature such as us. Thank you so much Aunty Sarah and Uncle Graeme,  we love you xxx

Great that you are feeling better and that you have had lots of messages of support. Kata has been wonderful, too.

That gingerbread man is (was) a work of art. Almost too good to eat. (Almost.)

When I was very young, I used to eat my Weetabix as though they were human. Sometimes starting with the head, or maybe a left leg. I hadn't thought about this for years.

When you go on to the Biscuiteers website, they ask you about cookies. You either have to "allow all cookies" or "manage cookies." I'd rather manage biscuits, than you very much.

They make some wonderful biscuits, too. I think I'd go for the shortbread, but would they give Walker's shortbread a run for their money? Either way, if they were put in front of me, my vegan diet would go right out of the window - for a short while, anyway.
