Well, what can we say, after a full year in the making, that was Eurovision, leaving us with that apres Christmas deflated sort of feeling …. another year to go, then who knows, perhaps we might get to Sweden in 2024, a return trip for Darrell.
Nevertheless it was a wonderful show, Liverpool dun us proud, it was the perfect show. Hannah the “shoutie lady” must have been told to tone it down after the semi finals and in the end we quite warmed to her. The Green Room interviews were dire, but then they always are and part of the fun, dear old Sonia, did her best, but some of the higher notes evaded her and then the fragrant Sam Ryder knocked it out of the park. So many wonderful highlights but sadly too many to mention.
As for the winner, perhaps our lunchtime meatball sub was a spooky, prophetic omen we overlooked. To be honest, we never really got that into Sweden or the much writhing Loreen. Darrell absolutely hated her costume, saying it made her look really grimy like something out of a mummy/alien film…….
……. and as for the nails, eee yewie yuk, to quote our beloved niece and nephew, how on earth did she go to the loo?
We were sooooooo praying that the public and rest of the world vote would upend the judges votes and Finland would be the eventual winner, but sadly it wasn’t to be.
As for the UK, we knew in out hearts we wouldn’t do it, the competition, especially from the other ladies, was just too stiff, if we hadn’t gone last, we’d have been invisible. Hey ho.
So, what’s next on our agenda of looking forward to ……….

Thanks for your thoughts. I didn't see any of it, but I did watch the winning song online.
So, what is next on your agenda of looking forward to? I wait with bated breath.
It was wonderful wasn’t it? I was so hoping that Poland would win but I never guess correctly!
There was quite a few I enjoyed, Sweden being one of them but Loreen was happy and as we know Sweden can bang out a few good tunes. JantheFan x
