Yesterday began, Nigel said, like any other “normal” Thursday …….
……. there was the school run at the end, but not before a full on day of listening to his beloved readers, with his new collection of stickers at the ready to give out and the accompanying Cook Lady’s famous roast dinner Thursday at lunchtime as reward for his labours …..
…… which this week was pulled pork, crackling, stuffing and roasts, his very, very, very most favourite!
However, things got even betterer, when on the aforementioned school run Iris, Bertie and he stumbled upon a box of apples with a note to help yourselves ……
….. with the promise of “….. more where they came from” from the gentlemen who’d put them out, and was cleaning his car at that precise moment. Needless to say, three prime apples were duly selected and happily chomped upon for the rest of their journey.
It was pretty much routine when they got back home, time to play, tea, spellings and reading, before Tom the Scientist took over from Nigel and then the magic happened ……..
…… when Nigel noticed that the Evesham Virgin air balloon (https://www.virginballoonflights.co.uk/location/evesham) seemed to be following him, affording him safe passage all the way home.
He said it was almost too romantic for words and couldn’t have been a more perfect ending to what had already been a perfect day …… bless his little cotton socks!

Wonderful! I feel a song coming on.
"Oh, it's such a perfect day.
I'm glad I spent it with you."
