Yesterday we got a message via Facebook from one of our old friends back in the Homeland ……… it was ….. like a small dagger to Nigel’s heart ……
……. we’d heard a few rumours, but now finally, and especially poignant for the little fella, we now knew they are true ……..
Nigel’s beloved Motor World, scene of so many moments of awe and wonder is now ……. a Dominoes, in a village which already has one pizza parlour, a source of great nomming in the past. And the Barclay’s Bank next door, which also backed onto of Castle Greysquirrel’s garden? Gone too, probably with, sighed Nigel, plans of turning it into a Costa (but that, for the moment, is just a sad Nigel’s wild speculation).
All things sadly must pass and although both are no longer part of our world, the memories will always be there. Oh, and the old vicarage? Well, that’s now an eatery and community hub, with, we believe a micro pub in the making!
Nigel is hoping to spend a weekend with Lu sometime soon, he’s not sure if he will be able to bare opening his eyes if they pass through on their travels …… what is he like?

How sad. I used to buy windscreen wiper blades, light bulbs, spark plugs, screen wash, engine oil, coolant, fuses, glass polish etc. etc. there.
Not forgetting the obligatory furry dice!
I remember Nigel adoring Motor World's knitted Nativity, too. At least Seaside Karen's wonderful present will soften the blow for young Nigel.
Thank you Mr D, that’s a lovely thought!
Seaside Karen - I was thinking about your fantastic knitted Nativity gift that you sent.
Oh it's sad when memories we have of a place are changed from how we remember them to be - we only moved house about a year or so ago and already there have been changes where we used to live. I can understand how young Nige feels. JantheFan x
