With the festive season everso slowly creeping up on us, we thought it would look extremely remiss of us if we got to December and we were not up to par on our Christmas confectionary and thus be found sadly wantonly wanting.
So towards that aim we thought we really ought to get a heads start by sampling the delights of Limited Edition Mint Daim bars, as found by Darrell in Home Bargains last week ……..
……. especially with Christmas being the season known for being seeped in confectionery of a mint type nature, peppermint canes, peppermint creams, humbugs, After Eight, Elizabeth Shaw and Bendicks, to name just a few.
Now, as we are no great aficionados of the dark style of chocolate, the milk chocolate covered Daims did hold a certain appeal for us ……
……. and on opening up a bar, then breaking it into pieces for our delectation, we could see that said covering was indeed, as on all Daims, amply generous.
The mint aroma was subtle and reassuringly not to strong, we didn’t get the sense that we were about to pop something reminiscent of Colgate into our “gobs”.
With our first bite that totally unique and familiar Daim crunch and texture was there ……….
……. but we’ll be honest the mint flavour didn’t really “do” it for us, we quite like the odd mini orange Daim, but even though the mint was of the limited edition variety, they didn’t have us singing from the roof tops.
A “Normal” Daim is more than perfect enough ………..
…… so why then try to top that perfection? I doubt that Mint Daims will find their way into our December Saturday/Sunday night Strictly nibbles bowl, but who knows what else might ………
….. however, a still very respectable 7 out of 10 squid on our World Famous Richter Scale of Noms, it’s just down to personal taste on this one.

Ah, well. Never mind. Stick to the mini orange ones, then.
Monkey - did Nigel write this one, as you dictated it? I ask, because the spelling isn't up to your usual high standard, and I remember Nigel's hand-written letters to Santa, among others. Young Nigel hasn't quite mastered spelling, yet.
And Daim/Diam has got him all mixed up.
I’m always glad to read your food reviews as it helps me in my shopping decisions.

Mint Daims don't sound appealing to me - I prefer the original bar. Good review though. JantheFan x
