Another Missed Mop.

You can’t help but notice that the signs have been up for weeks now warning drivers that the top of our road  leading into town will be closed this week between 3rd and 7th October……..
Evesham Mop
…… that’s because it’s Evesham The Mop, where the fair comes to town, taking over all of the High Street.  It’s exciting times, but even though we have been in Evesham for over two years now, we are and will remain for another year at least strangers to all its said pleasures!
MOpThis time last year we were in Dawlish with Little Miss Iris on a late caravan break and currently we are away again, this time with Young Master Bertie exploring the cathedral and other places of historic interest of Wells, as Bertie is very partial to a church declaring them to be just like Elsa’s Castle.  We also hope to take in the odd tearoom to two for an indulgent autumnal cream tea. (naturally, posts to follow).
Our fingers and toes have been robustly crossed hoping to ensure that Bertie doesn’t succumb to any lurgies this time, as you may remember, he came down with the dreaded chicken pox in May when we took him to Weston Super Mud Mare and all he and we can really remember was him being draped over with a blanket like the elephant man whenever we went out and a constant itching in all his crevices, poor little mite! Not so happy days ....... but so far, so good, Bertie has been in very good spirits and no sign of spots!

Enjoy Wells. I hope Master Bertie stays well, and you don't bump into the Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells. Well well.

I’m sure the ‘Mop’ will be around for many years yet so the time will come when you are no longer strangers to it. Have a lovely time in Wells, looking forward to seeing the photos.
