Sun Holiday Tokens

I have been getting up extra early this week to make sure I get a copy of the Sun from the Tesco Express in the village.

I am collecting the tokens for a Sun £9.50 holiday.
 
Last year we had three holidays through the diligent collecting of Sun tokens.  We went to Weymouth, Brixham and Wales.

It’s very exciting, especially as I love the seaside so much.  Lucy will be excited too when I tell her. She will probably start saving her 2p coins for the Penny Falls Machines in the arcade, and I will start practicing the party songs.

Frozen Pipes

It’s been very very cold and some of our pipes have frozen!

Dad gave me a hairdryer and told me to “Sit and point it at the pipe!”

It took ages and my bum went numb.  I tried to hum little tunes to while away the time but I couldn’t hear myself over the hairdryer!

Scrabble

With all this snowy weather I’ve had to stay in quite a bit so my mate came round with his Scrabble board, which is very pink!

We’re only good with three and four letter words.

And it takes us ages to put a word down.

I can do: inn, fort, ton, not and torn, if I can fit them in somewhere.

What I Am Reading At The Moment

I love reading. At the moment I am reading Harry Hill’s  - Tim the Tiny Horse.  It is very funny and Tim is very cute.

I like Harry Hill too, I never miss TV Burp, I especially like it when he does Freaky Eaters, because as you know I love my food and don’t have a fussy bone in my tummy!

Brain Training

I have a Brain Age of 84, which is not very good!

So I am really trying to get it down.

When I am not training my brain, I like to play Tetris, but without the sound on as it can be a bit irritating.

Marmite or Bovril?

A bit of a contentious issue this!  Me, I like both!  I like Marmite and cheese sandwiches in my lunch box, Marmite on my toast BUT I am very partial to a mug of Bovril when I go to a Wolves match.

Lucy doesn’t like Marmite at all, she always goes yuk, yuk, yuk, but covers her toast with Bovril.

My very, very favourite is Marmite on toast, with beans on top and grated cheese on top of that, put under the grill ‘till the cheese is melted.  Yum, yum, yum, move over Gordon Ramsey!

Mum has got this strange thing on her desk.

Patience

Auntie Jan showed me how to play patience when I was bored the other day.  It’s brilliant!

I play it for hours and hours.

So I reckon that makes me very patient!

Celebrity Big Brother

Everyone knows that I am addicted to Reality TV and that I will be glued to Celebrity Big Brother for the next few weeks, BUT I have been told that I have to watch it in my bedroom, because it is, and I quote  “Rubbish” – I naturally beg to differ. 

But, I have to say, they are a pretty duff lot this year, two boyfriends of Jordan; one past, one present and a girl who wrecked a Rolling Stones marriage!

If I were to have a bet – the Cage Fighter will be the first out and the lady who was in Dallas will win!

What Are Young Girls Like!

I don’t know ……. when we went out for our New Years Indian Buffet Lucy confessed that she didn’t own a pair of gloves……  it has worried me ever since. 

So today we went to Bridgnorth Market and I got her two pairs, to be doubly sure that her hands will be warm and she will not get chilblains.  The pink pair will go with her new scarf.

It says on the label that they are magic gloves! She is coming for her Sunday dinner later on today so I will see if she can do magical things when she tries them on.

New Year Tidy Up

 

Back to reality.  I had a long lie in yesterday, so breakfast was actually lunch!  We had the works, as it was New Years Day:- bacon, sausage, hash browns, fried egg, black pudding and baked beans, washed down with Tropicana, with the bits in and a nice cup of builders tea. Gorgeous!

This gave me the energy to help with the tidying up.  When it was all done I needed another cup of tea as I had worked up quite a thirst! I now need to confess to mum that I have sucked up one of her new best gloves……..

I only have one resolution …….. to have lots and lots of adventures!

Making Lucy A Bracelet

It feels really different to be in my ordinary clothes after weeks in a Santa suit!

I was a bit bored this afternoon so I made a bracelet for Lucy.  It was very fiddly and the beads kept on rolling off the table onto the floor.

Tonight I am seeing the New Year in with my family.  We are going for an Indian Buffet and then to Grandad Colin's.  We will exchange handmade gifts, which is all very exciting.

Christmas is Over

I think this is the last time I will wear my Santa suit until next year. Tomorrow I might hit the sales and see if I can find me a few new outfits to start the New Year off.

This poor snowman looks very sad at the thought of being stuck in a box in a dark attic until next December, so I have decided that “Snowmen aren’t just for Christmas” and Chris, as I have named him is going to stay in my mums craft room all year round …… but not too near the radiator!

Trying Out My Baking Stuff

Yesterday I said I was going to learn how to bake cakes and look what Lucy has found me ……

Some monkey sized baking tins, so I can make a sponge sandwich

….. some heart shaped cake cases and some diddy stars for teeny weeny cakes. I just practiced today ….. I need some flour, eggs and sugar before I can start baking for real ……..

Thank You Letters

I had a brilliant Christmas and life is gradually returning to normal.

The most important job today is to write all my “Thank You” letters. I had a lovely set of cupcake and cookie gift cards that I am using to do this.  they are ever-so good as they have a recipe on the back to go with the picture on the card.

I am saving one of each card for myself so I can try out the recipe.  This is going to be one of my New Years Resolutions – to learn how to make cakes.
After all my writing, I am looking forward to my tea tonight – as it’s turkey and chips, my festive favourite.

Wiiiiiii

I’ve Wii’ed a lot this Christmas!

Tom and Laura bought their Wii over for our festive entertainment.  I liked playing the Beatles best.

But I am a bit slow because of my stumpy hands.
