Look what Nigel found in Tesco this morning ………
…….. only Marmite Houmous! Now, we could have waited for Darrell to come back home from Hugh’s in Worcester to try it, but, after no debate whatsoever, we decided to carry on without him, because, as we reasoned, no doubt, he will have been sampling enough tasty morsels at Hugh’s anyway. What are we like?
It has to be said that said houmous didn’t look all that appetising, but there again, what do you expect from something so laden in Marmite, our savoury spread of choice.
I went in for the first dip ……. hmmmm, there was no mistaking the marmite flavour, one, two, three possibly even four dips were OK, but after that, perhaps the Marmite flavour kicked in a little too much.
Nigel, sadly was of a similar mind and noted that the houmous was also much sloppier than we are generally used to and with it’s colour found it a little off putting.
Regretfully not a resounding comestible success on Marmite’s behalf, Darrell really didn’t miss a treat. Only a 3.5 on our Richter Scale of Marmite noms, a very disappointing result ……. sigh!

Never mind. I'm sure it is (and tastes) better than the Marmite body spray.
Original Marmite spread on toast, for me, please.
Not all is marvellous marmite I guess. But one has to try these things. JantheFan x
