Happy New Year - 2021

Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy New Year, even if we’re are still bound by this flipping, flipping virus ……….

We’ve not made any New Years resolutions this year, we’re pretty rubbish at keeping them anyway, we just want to continue to stay safe and as self distanced as possible while waiting patiently for our turn in the queue for the Covid vaccine …….

……. and just embrace life in our own inimitable style. It’s so hard to make any concrete plans, but who knows what adventures we will be looking back on this time next year, so it’s simply onwards and upwards and tally ho, old bean!

Having said that, as you are read this post we will be in the midst of our traditional (family bubble) Iris and Bertie marathon sleepover (posts to follow).  Last night, we went on Iris and Bertie’s beloved, spooky, midnight walk (at 5 o’clock, thank goodness, sometimes, for the dark nights), complete with glow sticks, flashing balls, torches and a midnight feast of hot chocolate and biscuits …….

……. followed by a foam party bath where two whole cans of bath foam were dispersed ……. EVERYWHERE! The mess was unbelievable, the but we wouldn’t have it any other way, memories were made.

Then later today Tom and Laura will join us for one of Darrell’s wonderful roasts dinners, followed by Pass the Parcels and Musical Statues and other games Nigel has up his sleeve……..

……. but it has to be said that never have we been so pleased for a New Years Day to fall on a Friday …… giving us a whole weekend to sleep it off, recover and get back to normal again, whatever normal is ……. Happy Days
