Writing My Valentine Card

I wrote my Valentine Card first thing yesterday morning and made sure it was in the first post.

I thought for ages about what to write, but in the end I decided on a question mark, some kisses, a pink paper heart, plus a little squirt of aftershave for good measure!

It’s a bit of a pain that Valentines Day is on a Sunday this year,  but fingers crossed it will get to “my lady” with all due haste!

Look at Richard

A lot of people have been asking how Richard the Office Amaryllis has been getting on since I started looking after him and measuring his growth ……

This is how he looked a few days or so ago…….

But look at him now …….. he’s HUGE!

What’s In My Pocket Thursday

Sometimes when I am flagging I have a Dextro tablet.

I am soon full energy again and I love the way they melt in your mouth, it’s so lovely but I can’t find the words to describe it……….. its like an river of sweetness flowing on your tongue.

Young Ladies Wot Cook.

I think I am a little in love ……

The young ladies asked if I would like come and see their cooking, (and sample it too)  ….. not only are they all VERY pretty but they cook like angels …….. swoon ...

 

First I tried several quorn mince filo parcels ……

 

then I managed an ample portion of tricolour pasta twists in a creamy cheese sauce ….. well it would have been rude not to ……

I had a little rest then and watched Alice stir her posh rice pudding.


Followed by several portions of eggy bread 'n sausage sandwiches on a lovely plate -


and I finished with an individual mini pizza ……..


Twice!!!
It was like I had died and gone to culinary heaven!

Finding A Monkey for Mr Collis

Mr Collis found meeting me a very inspirational and emotional  experience. As he was driving the young ladies to their football match yesterday he spoke to Laura, the lovely PE teacher, about it at great length.

He too would like to have  a monkey just like me, to share all the adventures he has on his bus but was unsure about how to go about it, so I have taken it upon myself to sort it all for him……..

And this is his new companion ……

He looks a bit like me! He has a lovely face and I am sure we will be best friends – hopefully he will be with us in the next day or so, how BRILLIANT is that?

I now need to go and get some new clothes for him – me and Lovely Laura the PE teacher, think he should have something green to match Mr Collis’s jacket and he definitely needs some pants.

I am hoping that Mr Collis will let me go on a trip with him and his new Monkey, I wonder what he will call him?

Mr Collis’s Bus

Everyone knows I love George and his Banga Bus, but  I also know  another bus driver that I am also very fond of ……

Mr Collis takes the young ladies to their football training and other exciting trips.

We all love him, at Christmas he gives my mum a HUGE tin of Quality Street and a diary and she gives him a little bottle of whiskey.

He always wears his lovely smart green blazer, because he is Irish and at Christmas he had a green santa hat to match and lit his bus with fairy lights for us.

I feel really safe on his bus.
When it is cold, he makes sure he has a hot flask to make everyone a warm drink after a match so we’re not all shivery.

He lets me sit in the his driving seat, but I can’t reach the pedals or the steering wheel.
I love buses!

My Stone Collection

I collect a lot of things, this is my collection of stones.

I’ve got LOTS of them. Everywhere I go I bring a stone back.

My favourite sort of stones have holes all the way through them, they are supposed to have magical powers.

I keep them in a big glass jar.  I don’t know what a collector of stones is called, other than boring!!!!!

In Need of A Second Opinion

My shoes are still rubbing me,  so I thought I would seek the second opinion of  the First Aid Lady. I was a bit frightened by her rubber gloves, but she assured me that they were an important barrier against cross contamination!

After looking at the state of her hands, especially the deformity of her little finger, I think she was possibly in need of more first aid than me!

She was very gentle and applied a new plaster.

She had lots and lots of medical things in her box ……

But she said a plaster was all I needed and that bandaging my whole leg was completely unnecessary.
 
And I didn’t need an x-ray.

New Shoes

I’ve had some new shoes.  They are sort of navy pumps with lace and velcro fastenings.

They are very smart, but they rub my right heel a bit.

So I have put a plaster on over my blister.

I expect by this time next week I’ll have worked them in and they will be comfy.

My First Sherbet Fountain

Auntie Jan was telling me about the sweets she used to eat when she was a little girl.  She told me of this wondrous confection called a ‘sherbet fountain’. I’d never heard of one before and she promised me that she would get me one when she was out on one of her shopping missions

In the olden days they came in a paper tube, but now they’re in a plastic container (if I wash it out I can put small things in it and then put it in my pocket)

 

The olden days sherbet fountain is on the left and the modern days one is on the right.

You have to suck the liquorice stick after you’ve stuck it in the sherbet.  It’s all fizzy and makes your tongue tingle, brilliant!

What’s In My Pocket Thursday

This is really really useful.  Sometimes when I go round to see my Gran she says “Can you bleed my radiators for me, while I put the kettle on, I don’t think they are warming up properly”

It’s nice to be helpful and Gran puts a plate of lovely biscuits with her cup of tea, malted milk with cream in the middle, yum, yum, yum.

National Storytelling Week - Ghost Stories Not Recommended!

It’s National Storytelling Week and there is nothing me and my mates like better than telling each other ghost stories …

…… but I think my story was a bit too frightening…..

I started telling it in the dark, but after a while Alfie asked if we could have the light on!

Next time I think I will tell them a story about George and his Magical Banga Bus, that won’t frighten them
.

Unexpected Snow Brings Unexpected Pleasures

The snow yesterday morning caught everyone by surprise.

But I used it as an opportunity to hone my snowman making skills

I made, what could possibly be, the smallest snowman in the world.

We bonded.

Visit to the Dentist

I’ve got a dentists appointment at 3.30 this afternoon, so I am making sure my teeth are sparkly clean and that there are no bits of Kit-Kat secreted amongst my molars.

I always listen to hear if he says the word “occlusal” to the nurse while he is looking at my teeth because that means I need a filling, and I am not very keen on them!

If I am good he will give me a sticker

How Do You Rinse A Shower?

I like to help around the house, but I find cleaning the shower perplexing.

How do you rinse it without getting soaking wet?

Sometimes I think it would be best to take off all my clothes to do it!

Monkey, what is your favourite vegetable?

Without hesitation, it’s got to be cauliflower! I love it with my Sunday Roast in a medley of other vegetables - carrot, peas and broccoli. I also love cauliflower cheese which is a quick and easy for my tea or supper. It can be bland in colour so you have to serve it with other colourful foods.

If you asked me what my least favourite vegetable was, I would have to say broad beans, they make me heave!
