Nigel Found A Little Flagging

The beach at Dawlish Warren is but a short saunter away from our beautiful caravan, and though it would be lovely to just sit back, feel the sand between our toes, chill, embrace the sea air ……….

…….. and take in the views, I do so love a row of beach huts ……….

………. but Iris is a hard and demanding little taskmaster …….

…….. and castles have to be made ……..

…….. with moats that need real water to flow round them.

Nigel has been a real trooper, going up and down to the sea with two buckets at a time, despite it all being a bit of a fools errand ……..

I’ve promised him an extra large, double scoop ice-cream for all his efforts.  He asked if that also included a flake, sprinkles and juice, before adding that I may have to hold said ice-cream up to his lips for him to lick, as he thought all the strength in his arms may have disappeared from then!  Happy Days!

It is hard work building castles not to mention moats; lots of digging and hauling....Nigel is going to have to build up his biceps before the next seaside visit!.....Love,Dianne

Beaches are great for children of all ages.

Ah...my old stomping ground from my far-off student days (I was at Rolle College, when it still existed, in Exmouth). There used to be a little boat that ran between Exmouth and Dawlish Warren. Wonder if it still operates? Part of my degree was in Theatre Arts and one of the performances our group put on was an interactive Pirate Experience, which we held on the beach at Dawlish Warren. I reckon Nigel would have loved it!

What joy! Treasure these days. They fly by way too fast. The amount of buckets young nige carries will end.....one day........JantheFan x
