A Most Wonderful Gift From The Homeland

It has to be said that though we love an Eastern European supermarket, especially when we go with Kata, our lovely neighbour across the hall  and she introduces us to delicacies that we might have otherwise walked past, but alas, Evesham for all it’s exotic shopping experiences is sadly bereft of a single Indian Sweetshop, a pleasure we miss and crave soooooooooooooo much.

So imagine the robust tangible and palpable excitement that thronged The Towers when Lu sent us a box of delights from our most favourite Indian Sweet Emporium in Wolverhampton after Darrell mentioned his long felt need to her the other day.

It must have cost her an absolute bomb as sweets of this nature weigh an absolute ton, but oh my goodness it was sooooooooooooooooo appreciated!

She had included every single one of our favourites …….. it was hard to know what to delve into first.

……. but somehow we managed.

Perhaps we should have held back just a little and made them last a little longer ……..

……. but that could have looked a little passé and besides we couldn’t risk letting them getting in the slightest bit stale as that would have just looked too rude and ungrateful for words.

So, erm ….. they didn’t last that long, but it was wonderful, a real taste of The Homeland. Goodness only knows when we will taste their like again, however we have vouched safe that as soon as this current meltdown ends, we’ll be on the train to Lu’s  where we fully intend to make a very considered and large purchase …… Happy Days!

What a wonderful thought, by Lu.

Indian sweets don't keep that long, so this is a good excuse to overindulge, without feeling guilty!

And there I was thinking a hard boiled sweet from the 'Homeland!' Now these look scrumptious and was thoughtful of Lu to send you some.

Not long until meltdown is over and we're back to some normality. I hope you're already for the school run starting next week?

Oh how delish do they look.......any crumbs welcome here....but I know the place will look spic and span when they are consumed and no crumbs left to post, all inside tums. JantheFan x
