What a truly, truly, exciting month, this month of May 2023 is going to be, tomorrow we have the fairy-tale Coronation of Charles lll and Queen Cam the First.
It’s going to be a sparkle fest of crowns, tiaras, and unfettered wearing of all manner of humungous diamond jewellery, not to mention the odd gold carriage, mitre, wand, orb and spectre …….. as well as much sitting on the throne!
We are all ready, naturally we shall be formally attired as befitting the occassion. We thought kilts and full sporran would be appropriate as a gentle nod to our dear, beloved, late Queen as well as all the Royal abodes based in Scotland.
Darrell has planned a sumptuous, all day running buffet, so we don’t have to miss a single second of history being made during the day or later in the evening when all the re-runs are playing.
We shall be partaking in, among other apt delicacies:- Coronation chicken vol au vents, triangular cut and without crusts cucumber sandwiches, mini Greggs sausage rolls, scotch eggs and mini pork pies, followed by (and betwixt) a full bodied boozy trifle, a cream horn or two …….
…….. plus a sprinkling of mini Battenberg's as we’re rather partial to them for any kind of celebration and sure they have some sort of connection to royal family somewhere along the line, Sax-Carlsberg Battenberg Von Gotha?
The bunting is up and it can stay up for at least another week …… because we all know what next Saturday is …… our televisual highlight of the year, Eurovision!!!!!!! I’ll be honest, you might just see us burst this week …… and not just with all the food!

You look to be very well prepared for Saturday. You have plenty of tasty food, but no mention of drink. Is Darrell in charge of cocktails?
